This time of year is all about making New Year’s resolutions! With 2020 almost upon us (seriously, where did the time go?), we all love to think about our goals, our plans and our year to come. When it comes to our hair, it’s also great to make some resolutions for 2020. Maybe you want to step outside of your comfort zone and try a new look. Maybe it’s time to work on the health of your hair. Or maybe you just want to finally master the messy bun. Whatever it is, we’ve got some inspiration when it comes to your New Year’s hair resolutions.

Treat yourself weekly

Maybe you neglected your hair a little in 2019 and your ready to show it some love in the new year. Vowing to treat your hair weekly is a great way to keep it healthy and also to give you a moment of relaxation and indulgence. A weekly treatment such as a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment will help to keep your hair in the best condition possible!

Challenge yourself to turn down the heat

Let’s face it: some of us have an unhealthy relationship with our styling tools. We know they are damaging but we just can’t seem to let go. If your hair is looking a little worse for wear after so much straightening or curling, it might be time for a no heat challenge in 2020. Try going one month without any heat styling and see how much the quality of your hair improves. If you nail this, try two or three months. You don’t have to put down the heat tools forever, but it is great to give your hair an extended break once in a while and embrace your natural locks!

Change it up

New year, new me. Sound familiar? 2020 is all about new beginnings and getting out of your comfort zone, so why not try a new look? There are so many different ways you can change up your hair, from colour to cut to style. Maybe you have always wanted to try a bob or you’re ready for a complete colour switch up. Whatever it is, the new year is a great time to try something new!

Visit the salon regularly

When was the last time you visited your salon? We understand this time of year is busy for everyone, so your hair may be feeling a little neglected. If 2019 saw you visit the salon only a handful of times, paying regular visits is a great resolution to have for the new year. Try to book yourself an appointment every six to eight weeks to keep your hair in tip-top condition. Regular trims will get rid of any dry and split ends, as well as keeping your locks healthy and strong.

Master a new style

We all have that one go-to style that we can do in a pinch but we can also fall into the habit of doing the same one over and over again. Make a resolution to try something new in 2020 and master a different hairstyle. No matter if you are running late or lacking inspiration in the morning, having a quick, cute and easy hairstyle to opt for will make your mornings so much smoother!
