Most of us have felt a deep attachment to our heat styling tools at some point in our lives and it can be hard to put down the hair straightener or curling iron! However, excessive heat styling can cause major damage to our locks, leaving our hair dry, brittle and weak. Not only can it be harsh on our hair, but heat styling daily can also take up a lot of time – let’s be honest, we’d all love an extra five minutes to sleep in! Today we will be sharing some of our favourite heatless hairstyles to help keep your hair healthy and save you time in the morning.

The braided bun

We all love a messy bun and it’s an easy option when you only have a few minutes to do your hair. But what about when you want to look a little more put together? We love the braided bun for a simple yet effective updo. Simply secure your hair in a high ponytail, plait the pony and secure at the bottom. Take the plait and twist it around, tying it into a bun at the top of your head. Definitely give this one a go!

No heat beach waves

We all love that voluminous, beach wave look but it typically takes a lot of heat styling to achieve (meaning it’s not so healthy for our locks!). To achieve heatless beach waves, secure your hair into two plaits the night before and sleep with your hair in this style. In the morning, undo the plaits and lightly comb your fingers through the lengths of your hair. Need a little more volume in your beach waves? We love using a little dry shampoo to add body and texture or a light spritz of hairspray to secure the do all day long.

The easy braid crown

Love the look of a braid crown but find your braiding skills aren’t the best? We’ve got the perfect solution! Braid crowns are such a great way to look put together without the use of heat styling tools and also work great for getting your hair up and out of the way. To achieve the look of a braid crown, simply split your hair down the middle and loosely plait each side. Take one plait, cross it over the top of your head and secure it just behind the other plait. Take the second plait and do the same thing, crossing it over to the other side. Once secure, you can pull pieces of hair out if you prefer that messy look or keep things looking neater. There you have it, an easy braid crown!

The twisted low pony

We’ve all relied on a low pony at one stage or another when our hair just isn’t cooperating. While it’s a great hairstyle for the gym or a lazy day at home, you might be looking for a way to spice it up a little. We love parting our hair down the middle and taking two sections either side, towards the top of our hair. Take one section and twist it all the way down, repeating with the section on the other side. Secure your hair and both twists into a ponytail at the base of your neck. The two twists on either side take the low pony to the next level!
