We’ve all been there, right? You walk out of the salon with beautifully styled hair feeling confident with your fresh and fabulous new look. With the help of some dry shampoo, you can stretch that new hair feeling out to 2-3 days. But then, it comes time to wash your hair, and now it’s up to you to recreate the look… yet no matter how hard you try, you just can’t get it looking like it did when you first walked out of the salon!

We know how frustrating it is to feel like you’re not in control of your look – and the hit your confidence can take when you’re not 100% happy with your hair! That’s why here at Koto Hair, we’ve implemented a few key things in our salon process to ensure our clients will never have to ask “Why does my hair never look as good as it did at the salon?” again. Yep, that’s right. We’re helping you achieve salon quality hair, every day of the week!

 

We Listen

A key foundation for any relationship is communication! Regardless of whether you come in once a year, every 3 months or even every 3 weeks, we always conduct a consultation so we can ensure we’re providing you with the best possible service. We ask things such as; Are you wanting to maintain your current style or are you looking for a change? What do you feel is/is not currently working for you? Is there anything you particularly love or dislike? We even have in salon iPads available for those who may not be sure and need some help looking for inspiration!

As part of our initial consult, we’ll also check in with you to see how often you wash and blow dry your hair, how long/well styling usually lasts in your hair, as well as how long you have to spend on it on a daily basis. The purpose of these consults is to ensure you not only choose a style that suits you, but also one that you’ll be able to maintain and recreate with the time, tools and skill you have available to you!

 

We Equip You

Part of the fun of going to a salon and getting your hair done is being able to walk out with an elaborate blow wave! However, we also understand that not everyone has the time, tools or skill needed to recreate such a fancy salon hair-do at home each day. So while you may want something a bit more elaborate on the day of your visit, we also think it’s crucial you walk away with a thorough understanding of how to manage a style that is not only suitable for everyday wear but makes you feel your best as well!

In order to do this, we have a policy in store that we never ever put anything into your hair without first telling you what it is, what it does, how much to use and how to apply it. We also ensure you have the right tools and hair care (shampoo, conditioner, styling products etc) that you’ll need to maintain your hair. We call this part of the journey our ‘Show and Tell’ feature, as we like to get our clients involved in the process so they’re able to take that knowledge home with them and use it to recreate their salon look time and time again!

Regardless of how often you get your hair done, our expert stylists will work with you to create a plan for your hair to ensure it stays healthy and stylish between visits.

 

We Tailor Your Experience

Here at Koto Hair, we’re all about customer experience, which is why we take the time to tailor your visit so you can get the most out of it! We are continually reviewing our client journey document and always exploring new ways to improve the experience you have whilst in store. Our stylists are expertly trained and know exactly what to do from the moment the phone rings to the moment you step out the door with your fresh look. A few of the ways we make your experience with us stand out above the rest include:

  • A curated menu of drink options, including Genevese coffee and tea by T2 (accompanied by delicious individually wrapped Koto branded chocolates), as well as bubbles, beer and wine for after-hours appointments. We also provide complimentary mini water bottles to ensure you stay comfortable throughout your appointment.
  • A dedicated second, quieter room that we like to use for families, special occasions, or even if you just feel like some peace and quiet!
  • A separate washroom that we call our ‘Zen Zone’, complete with relaxing music, dim lights and a warm and fluffy blanket to get cosy under whilst you enjoy special treatments and a head massage.

Above all, we value honesty and do our very best to always ensure you walk away 110% satisfied and in love with your new hair. This includes seeking advice from other team members at times, and if we believe someone within our team is more suitable to perform a specific style that you’re after, we’ll always inform you.
